Historical drama
The recent History Channel series Vikings, has inspired much interest among the general public, and has inspired several blog posts that have been submitted to The World-Tree Project. These range from enthusiastic fan blogs to more critical academic posts about the programme. Vikings have also appeared in The Last Kingdom, where they are a constant threat to the peace of England.

Comedy Vikings
Vikings also feature in comedy sketches, as Monty Python's famous Spam sketch and their lesser known Njorl's Saga show. In the former, the humour comes from the ridiculous situation of Vikings in a cafe where the main item on the menu is Spam. The latter subverts the tropes of the Icelandic sagas in a variety of ways, playing on elements familiar to those that have read them.
